Author's Secret
I am delighted to present this Marathi version of the Shrimad Bhagavat, the sacred scripture, to the readers. The profound philosophy from the original Sanskrit Purana, along with extensive information on genealogies, repeated praises, less significant stories, and geographical descriptions, have been condensed as necessary. The presentation has been designed in a way that will appeal to the taste of elder readers. For the purpose of drama and emotional enrichment, certain incidents have been written in the form of dialogues.
This work was made possible with the encouragement of Shri Ramchandra Shankar Jori. It is through his support that this literary service to my beloved deity has been completed. Notably, the 1000-verse Shrimad Bhagavat was published by Balvant Bookstore in Mumbai, and both this writing and the story adaptation began simultaneously.
Illustrations have been included to enhance the beauty of this book. At the end, a summary of the Bhagavat Mahatmya from the Skand Purana is given, and earlier chapters feature descriptions of the deities like the Sun, along with an explanation of how to envision the wide-ranging form of Vishnu in a symbolic manner.
The Shrimad Bhagavat Sudha Sagar published by Gita Press, Gorakhpur, has been immensely useful in this work. The Nirnay Sagar and the original Bhagavat Purana have also been referenced. I am indebted to the great devotees like Swami Akhandanand and Swami Sanatan Dev for the contribution their work has made to Shrimad Bhagavat Sudha Sagar.
I humbly request the readers to be forgiving of any possible printing or other errors in this book, and to accept this 'Janardan' service with kindness.
I offer this word-based service to my dearest God, the Lord of Gopis, who enchants the minds of all, with deep respect, after bowing to my mother, father, teachers, and numerous friends who shower me with unconditional love.
